Meet the instructor
Garima Dance Academy is dedicated to promoting Indian culture through dance — Bollywood, regional folk, and modern fusion. The work is rigorous and joyful: intricate choreography made accessible to students of all ages. Under founder and artistic director Garima Agrawal, the academy has become a sought-after name in the region’s cultural dance community.
Garima is a choreographer and a performer in her own right. The foundation is competition-built — awards from her school years through state and national competitions in India — and self-extended through workshops with celebrity choreographers including Shiamak Davar and Dharmesh Yelande. She still studies.
Fifteen years of teaching stand behind the work, eleven of them from a studio in metro Atlanta. Garima brings her expertise and creativity to every class — she is the founder, the artistic director, the only instructor, and the choreographer of every piece. Each year, her students perform at multiple prestigious events across the region: festivals, civic gatherings, and charity galas.

Bollywood, folk, and fusion are entry points to a wider tradition. We teach the steps, but the deeper aim is helping kids feel grounded in a culture that’s theirs.
